Our Church started originally in Nicosia (Cyprus) as an International (English speaking) Church in 1993, serving foreign workers in Cyprus.
In 1996 the Church was developed as a Sri Lankan Church with the name “Sri Lankan Christian Fellowship Cyprus.” It was the first Sri Lankan Church in Cyprus.
Sri Lankans and other people from Asia come to work in Cyprus as temporary workers for a limited time (usually 4 years). Most of these people are women working as house-maids. This is the kind of people that our Church serves.
Today our Church serves Sri Lankans, as well as people from other nations. In Cyprus we have Churches in Nicosia and other cities.
About 80% of the persons attending our Church meetings have started a personal relationship with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ here in our Churches.
Our Statement of Faith is here.
Our vision as a Church is to prepare Christian workers to serve our Lord. So we are running a Bible School in the Church. There are courses of different levels and different languages (Sinhala, Tamil, Nepali and English). The lessons are simple and practical. We encourage everybody to attend a class and grow spiritually in Christ.
Our Mission
To go and make disciples, in obedience to the call of our Lord Jesus Christ, “Go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19),
To demonstrate the love and the care of our Lord Jesus to every person who comes to our Church, making real the words of our Lord “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another" (John 13:34-35).
Our Vision
Evangelise, Disciple, Train, Send.
We welcome you to the Sri Lankan Christian Fellowship Cyprus.
